Colin McCarthy is a principal Lanak & Hanna, P.C. He has been representing owners, general contractors, trade contractors, material suppliers, design professionals, and bonding companies for nearly twenty years, with an emphasis in complex construction projects. He is well-versed in all forms of project delivery methods and fluent with construction plans and specifications.
Mr. McCarthy is an active member of the Construction Section of the Orange County Bar Association and the National Bond Claims Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Associated Builders and Contractors Trust and serves as General Counsel for the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association. Mr. McCarthy has authored numerous articles related to the construction industry and currently lectures for the American Institute of Architects, Continuing Education Program. He also serves on the construction mediation panel for the United States District Court.
Mr. McCarthy is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction and a member of the United States Green Building Council. A strong proponent of sustainable construction and design, Mr. McCarthy served two terms as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Costa Mesa.
Mr. McCarthy received his Bachelor’s Degree, with honors, from the University of California Santa Barbara where he received the University Award of Distinction. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola Law School where he was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review and Dean’s List. Mr. McCarthy also holds a Certificate in Construction Management from the College of Engineering at San Diego State University.
