Joseph Hanna, the (Retired) Principal Emeritus and co-founder of Lanak & Hanna, knows the devil is in the details. Drawing on a storehouse of legal knowledge about the construction industry, Joe is known for providing an exceptional level of attentiveness and engagement. His clients count on him to get things done, no matter how complex their issue.
“What makes me a good lawyer is communication — being empathetic, engaged. Attention to client concerns about their case and responsive to client’s needs."
Joe began his legal career by joining Frank Lanak shortly after passing the California Bar. He has since devoted his career to making Lanak & Hanna a go-to Orange County construction law firm. A recognized expert in California mechanics’ lien law, Joe’s extensive construction and commercial law practice also covers public and private stop payment claims, public and private payment bonds claims, construction releases, joint checks and payment claims arising on Indian Tribal lands, contracts, purchase orders and suppliers structuring credit agreement and collections.
Joe’s detailed understanding of construction and mechanics’ lien law has made him an in-demand speaker on current trends and recent developments in these areas. He has given numerous presentations before construction industry organizations, and has lectured for the University of California Continuing Education of the Bar, various trade associations and many other groups in the construction industry on the subjects of mechanics’ liens, payment bonds and other aspects of construction law.
